On top of Down Under

If at first you don’t succeed, try again is certainly apt for Barno’s re-entry into Australia following the appointment of Craig Dowson as regional representative, operating from Sydney.

Director Brian Lloyd was instrumental in Barno’s initial drive into the Australian market 20 years ago.

“We were successful in acquiring key accounts, some of which extended beyond Australia into Canada, New Zealand and the UK.  Our pricing – including distribution from Cape Town – was competitive yet retained the high quality standards associated with Barno. Sadly, our Australian agent passed on and this caused us to lose momentum in Australia,” says Brian.

However, Barno has never backed down from a challenge. Founded over 60 years ago, Barno understands the virtue of patience, combined with the agility to move quickly when changing conditions signal an opportunity.

Australian representative Craig Dowson has all the attributes needed to lead Barno Australia and build a sustainable operation. The other important factor has to do with the Rand exchange, which enables Barno to compete favourably against Eastern imports.

“It’s not just about a favourable exchange rate because that can change,” stresses Brian. “We produce high quality PVC and leather products.  When it comes to decorating products with information or graphics and where clients have stringent corporate identity requirements, the excellence of our silk screen printing, digital printing, embossing and foiling has always given Barno an edge.”

Ja, that’s the way I’ve come to know Barno. They don’t give up and always come out stronger. This augurs well for Barno Australia. Go you good things!

I could not agree more with Gary’s comment! Tenacity, patience and integrity have been the hallmarks of the Barno brand.
All the very best with your new venture Craig, we are behind you all the way! All the very best and… “G’day mate!”…
